How To Draw A Pair Of Scissors
How to Draw Cartoon Scissors that look sharp
This drawing lesson will help you draw cartoon scissors. This cutting instrument has been around for over 2500 years now! It might not be the oldest tool man as ever created, but it's probably the most used tool in school these days.
Scissors are made for about anything. To cut paper, food, clothes and even to cut people. Let's try to draw a simple pair of scissors in this easy tutorial!
Step 1
Sketch a circle to form the finger ring of your scissors. Next, add a rectangle (with the top being larger than the bottom) to illustrate the handle of your scissors.
Step 2
Then, draw a long and thin rectangle to create the first blade.
Step 3
Repeat the two steps above to create the other part of your scissors. You can also add a small circle (for the screw) to join blades together.
Step 4
Refine the outline of both handles. You can play with this part of the scissors and draw it using different shapes and designs.
Step 5
Next, you can also refine the outline of the blades. Notice on top of each blades the little curve. The space created with this curve is important. Without this extra room, the two handles wouldn't be closed properly. So make sure you are drawing this part accurately.
Step 6
Now you can add some colors to your work. I decided to color the handles in green and the blades in grey.
Step 7
If you feel like it, you can also add some nice shadows effect. And that's it! You've created some nice scissors in only a couple of minutes. I hope you had fun drawing this sharp object and don't hesitate to come back for more. You can see a few samples below. Enjoy! :)
